Greetings!
What another extremely busy few weeks we have had. I attended the National Tree Day planting event at Canning Reserve on a bitterly cold day. District Governor Amanda Wendt and DGEN Michael Lapina and his son Alex came along too. Samara really enjoyed the day and Lesley, Nicole & Danny and their children, Anthony McManus, Ian Ada from Carlton Rotary helped as well. Rotarians from Keilor East ran the BBQ for us - thank you David Dippie and team.
Edith, Lesley and I met with Emma and Dalisto from the Moonee Valley L2P program discussing Rotary involvement.
It was wonderful to hear from Rhys and Colleen at last week's meeting, and to hear more about Mentor Match. This sounds like a very worthwhile endeavour for our members to consider. We will discuss more at the next meeting.
A reminder to RSVP for next week's dinner meeting to me.
All members are needed to assist on the Op Shop Open Day 3 September.
John Sklenar will be running the BBQ and help will be needed in the shop as well. Please RSVP to Lesley.

It is supported by Victoria Government funding and is based on the successful Victoria Police and Ambulance mentoring programs.

Our club partnered with Moonee Valley Council to extend the wildlife habitat and pollination corridor along the Maribyrnong River, this time at the Canning Street Reserve in Avondale Heights.
It was an extremely successful day with support from
Moonee Valley Sustainability, Friends of Maribyrnong River, the local cub pack and members of the public. 3000 seedlings were planted in under 2.5 hours and thanks to the Keilor East Rotarians everyone was well fed.
Thanks to Moonee Valley Council, Victorian Government - DEWLP, Planet Ark, Toyota.

This research was based on the view that โ although frequently missing from discussions โ attitudes and the culture of a society are pivotal to childrenโs wellbeing.
The research will be led by The University of Western Australiaโs Dr Stephan Lund, who will be assisted by an impressive team of researchers including Dr Ruth Wallace from Edith Cowan University, Dr Catherine Archer from Murdoch University and Curtin Universityโs Dr Madeleine Dobson โ who has collaborated with VCI previously to complete โA Childโs Voiceโ research report.
