One of the advantages of being a member of a Rotary E-Club is you are effectively a Rotarian without borders. You can connect with other Rotary clubs in your local area, or location of interest, and pick and choose the activities you want to be involved in based on your areas of interest and time availability.
Richard Selway (President Elect for the Rotary E-Club of Melbourne) spent the morning with members of the Rotary Club of Lilydale decommissioning a redundant play ground in Badgers Creek.
In the past, these redundant play grounds typically ended up as landfill. But via the ‘Rotary Overseas Recycled Playgrounds’ program, they are diverted from landfill by being dismantled, shipped, and rebuilt at an overseas location that would typically not have access to this type of equipment.
Today’s activity is a great example of Rotarians taking relatively small actions while making a BIG DIFFERENCE!

Glenferrie Rotary, along with Hawthorn and Canterbury Rotary Clubs, successfully removed the Victoria Park North Playground in Kew on Tuesday 15th February.
The “ Mark-Up” of the Equipment on Thursday for the playground dismantling was critical so that the recipients have a “road-map” on which to follow to re-assemble the playground again when it gets to its new owners. The documentation was provided by Bob Allardice Project Co-Ordinator, RORP, Districts 9810, 9800 & 9790.
Also want to acknowledge Simon from Warrandale Contractors, who provided excellent co-ordination and supervision to get the removal done safely and quickly.
